EAMES STORAGE UNIT
Charles Eames Ray EamesIn 1949, Charles and Ray Eames designed innovative freestanding, multifunctional desks and shelving systems. Like the Eames House, built simultaneously, these designs followed the principles of industrial production: we speak of the Eames Storage Unit (ESU) and the Eames Desk Unit (EDU).
In collaboration with the Eames Office and Dutch designer Hella Jongerius, the new colors were carefully defined to give an ESU a fresh, contemporary look while paying homage to the spirit of the 1940s and 1950s.
Charles and Ray Eames developed the Eames Storage Units (1949) following the principles of industrial production. The wider ESU Shelf is available in various heights, from a sideboard to a tall bookcase. The ESU Bookcase shelf is slightly narrower and offers practical storage options with its drawers and sliding doors.
