The collaboration between Foscarini and Marc Sadler began with Mite, a floor lamp so innovative that it won the Compasso d’Oro in 2001. For Mite, the company and designer developed a special patent: a blend of fiberglass and carbon fiber that simultaneously serves as decoration and a supporting structure. This technology, already used in the production of fishing rods, oars, and golf clubs, was being used for the first time in the world of lighting. The extreme flexibility of this material\u2014lightweight yet strong\u2014has allowed for the design of an entire collection of lamps for multiple uses. Three light sources, oriented in different directions, evenly illuminate the diffuser, highlighting the lamp’s decoration and projecting an intense, warm beam of light both upwards and downwards. <\/p>\n
Thanks to its compact size, the Giga-Lite collection is suitable for both residential and commercial use, furnishing spaces with the elegant personality that characterizes the entire collection.
