Artemide is an Italian design lighting company founded in Milan in 1960. At Oboe Muebles, a family business working with design furniture since 1987, our catalogue includes Artemide lamps that you can go through with our team in Málaga and Marbella. This page sets out the brand's history, the models we carry, and how to order them.

Artemide: Italian design lighting since 1960

Artemide was founded in Milan in 1960 by Ernesto Gismondi and Sergio Mazza, whose first lamp, Alfa, dated from 1959. The company is based in Pregnana Milanese, where it opened its first factory in 1972, and it manufactures in Italy and Hungary. In 1991 it acquired VeArt, a historic Venetian glassworks, and began producing hand-blown glass collections through its own glass workshop. Its 1996 manifesto, The Human Light, placed light at the service of the person and their needs. Carlotta de Bevilacqua is president and chief executive.
