Edra is an Italian house that has produced sofas, armchairs, beds, tables and lighting in Tuscany since 1987. At Oboe Muebles you can consult its catalogue and order any piece through our Málaga showrooms and our Marbella showroom. This page covers the brand, the Edra models in our catalogue, and how to buy and receive them.

The Edra house in Tuscany

Edra was founded in 1987 in Perignano, in the province of Pisa, by the siblings Valerio and Monica Mazzei. The name is a contraction of Esedra, the open, seated space of the Greek and Roman atrium. The brand presents authors such as Francesco Binfaré, Jacopo Foggini, Masanori Umeda and Fernando and Humberto Campana.

Two proprietary materials define much of the range. Gellyfoam forms the soft core of many pieces, while the patented Intelligent Cushion is a structural cushion that adapts with a single gesture. All Edra fabrics are made exclusively by the brand.

Edra furniture in Spain: the catalogue at Oboe

Oboe holds nine Edra products, listed across Living room (8), Sofas (7), Armchairs (2) and Office (1). Examples in the catalogue include the Standard by Francesco Binfaré, whose backrests and armrests shape with a light movement of the hand and which also has a Standard Outdoor version, along with GRANDE SOFFICE, STANDALTO, CHIARA, GETSUEN, TATLIN, ABSOLU, ESSENTIAL and ON THE ROCKS. Many appear in our Sofas category.

Selected pieces and their makers

The Chiara swivel armchair by Binfaré uses the Intelligent Cushion in its shaping backrest over a structure of steel tubes and profiles. The Standalto sofa is suspended 15 centimetres from the floor, while the Grande Soffice combines Gellyfoam with goose feathers. The Tatlin sofa by Mario Cananzi and Roberto Semprini draws freely on Tatlin's tower, an emblem of Constructivism, and the Getsuen armchair by Masanori Umeda takes the form of a lily over a hand-shaped steel structure.
