The cushion is attached to the headboard with two leather straps in various colors, unmistakably highlighting the designers’ attention to detail. On the outer side of the wooden headboard are two small trays hanging in a circular pattern, serving as bedside tables. At the back, if the bed is positioned in the center of the bedroom, a small protruding shelf can be added. The wooden bed frame rests on four slender metal legs, which in turn support a concave compartment, available in leather or fabric, to accommodate any type of mattress. At the foot of the bed, a comfortable bench can be placed, echoing the bed’s design, its cushion secured with leather straps like the bed frame.
Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu, partners in both work and life, design an integrated bedroom furniture system from their headquarters in Shanghai, promoting restful sleep. The bed—characterized by a typically Eastern simplicity and essentiality—is defined by the use of wood as the primary material, combined with metal and soft textiles or leather. The headboard is high and tucked in, seemingly embracing the bed frame. The interior of the headboard is lined with soft, monochromatic textiles or leather and supports a comfortable cushion in the center, serving as a headrest.
