This is the Catania rug from our kilim collection, a design by Sandra Figuerola inspired by a recurring pattern found on tiles, a common motif in Mediterranean culture. It’s a piece with a restrained graphic style, yet vibrant thanks to the prominent use of red.
Kilims are handcrafted rugs made using only threads, tightly interwoven on a handloom without knots. This process results in a lightweight, pileless rug, similar to upholstery. Furthermore, the technique offers great design flexibility.
