With a design that appears entirely random and spontaneous, our Japan rug is handcrafted knot by knot using 100% virgin wool. This technique allows for the very sense of casual, serendipitous design that this piece conveys, reminiscent of nature’s wild and diverse growth. Its textured buds can be likened to countless things: from a shower of petals to fields of cherry blossoms or a colony of marine coral.

Its surface, an attractive coral color, features subtle variations in hue. This is because it is made with yarns dyed using the tie-dye technique, a system that employs knots to dye a textile, applied in this case to the wool yarns used in its construction. This dyeing method allows the yarns to display various shades, colors, or even gradients. Japan is a model designed by GAN’s in-house team and is available in two sizes.
