Perrine & Gilles put a new spin on an old childhood memory: the sheets our grandmothers used to put over the sofa to protect it from our hooves. This age-old custom is part of Mediterranean folk tradition, so we thought it would be a great idea to approach it from a contemporary perspective. The Barnaby sofa and armchair duo emerged from this experiment.

After painstaking pattern-making, we ensured that the fabric covering the structure could be quilted while respecting the exact proportions of each of its volumes. Because it’s a loose-fitting cover, Barnaby can be easily put on and taken off, and additional covers are available for quickly changing the look as needed. The side ribbons add color and accentuate the design’s sculptural forms.
