PLASS
Luca NichettoPlass, whose name comes from the synthesis of “plastic” and “glass”, interprets the thousand-year-old artisan tradition of glass in the light of contemporary material and process: transparent rotational molded polycarbonate. Thanks to this technology, it is not yet used on a very wide scale in the lighting sector; the finishes are not impersonal and cold but, on the contrary, are characterized by slight irregularities, highlighted by the light source, as in glass artisan. The colors chosen for the diffuser, teal and gray, are inspired by Murano glass and Venetian craftsmanship. In addition to evoking an atmosphere and an emotion, the color contributes to the definition of the shape of the lamp, highlighting the thickness of the incisions on its surfaces. Suspended between memory and actuality, Plass lends itself to characterizing large spaces, even developed in height, alone or in multiple compositions.
