The design of the Mangas Original collection involved four years of research to find the tools and the complex working method that allows these pieces to be woven entirely on a manual loom, despite their changing textures, types of threads, and weft orientations. and widths. Taking hand-knitted wool sweaters as an aesthetic reference, Patricia Urquiola sought to design a rug with many volumes that could combine different textures. From there emerged not only a whole collection of rounded contours inspired by the pattern of a sleeve but also a series of poufs in original formats. Some rug models have a very elongated shape and large dimensions, while others are medium or small in size and, in some cases, can be combined with each other as if they were modular pieces. In addition, they can also be hung on the wall as a tapestry, either entirely if they are small pieces or covering part of the floor and the wall, in the case of larger ones.
