Masters
Eugeni Quitllet Philippe StarckThe Masters chair is a clever homage to three symbolic chairs, re-read and reinterpreted by the creative genius Starck: Arne Jacobsen’s “7 Series”, Eero Saarinen’s “Tulip Armchair” and Charles Eames’ “Eiffel Chair,” which intertwine the unmistakable silhouettes in a hybrid and sinuous chair to give life to an original and attractive fusion of styles. Supported on four slim legs, the Masters seat is wide and comfortable.
The particular finish of the chair makes it sensually velvety. The true distinctive note of the chair is logically its backrest, characterized by the solid surfaces and the hollows created by the curvilinear intertwining of three different backrests that descend to meet the perimeter of the seat. Light, practical, stackable, and available in many colors, Masters can also be used outdoors. The Masters chair has been decorated with the prestigious “Good Design Award 2010” from the Chicago Athenaeum – Museum of Architecture and Design.
