MVV
Manuel Valls VergésThe name of MVV responds to the acronym of its name to claim its authorship. This is how his grandson – an architect – and his collaborators at his Two-bo studio wanted it. Pablo, María, and Alberto rescued this lamp 45 years later.
Marset hinges on time, picks up the original design – an octagon with overlapping sheets – and updates it by providing a double skin: cherry wood on the outside of the sheets and white inside to optimize the quality of the light.
The original measurements are respected –45 cm– and the interior structure, which was originally made of iron, is also made of polycarbonate to make it lighter. With wood as its material, the MVV achieves exceptionally warm lighting. Steel and glossy black polycarbonate structure holds eight sheets of PET with the exterior in cherry wood, and the interior
always blanks. Transparent methacrylate diffuser in the upper part.
