SUMO
YonohYonoh presents a sofa and armchair duo with a Japanese touch.
As its name suggests, the concept is based on the robust physiognomy of sumo wrestlers and contrasts with the lightness of the base, inspired by the clogs that transport them out of the ring.
The wood chosen to “fit” the collection is fresh due to its veins’ richness and porosity. Tint options range from very natural colors to more artificial ones like pink or yellow. The peculiar shape of the seam that surrounds the entire outer perimeter of the seat stands out.
Clara and Alex transcend the archetype of seating for public spaces, softening shapes. Despite its plump presence, Sumo occupies a minimal space thanks to its compact dimensions (178 and 92 centimeters for the sofa and the armchair, respectively).
