Formakami is an ultralight pendant lamp, designed by Jaime Hayon, inspired by ancient Asian lanterns, but reinvented with a modern aesthetic.
Its origins date back centuries, when paper lanterns became popular in Asia, using different colors, shapes, and sizes with distinct meanings. They were often used for celebrations or simply as decoration to reflect hope and prosperity. By fusing traditional craftsmanship with ancient materials like rice paper, Formakami becomes an ideal lamp for modern spaces.
