The positioning of the uprights, offset from one another, is interesting, creating an unusual visual effect. Original “tray” shelves, with rounded edges, are attached to the uprights. These shelves are made of solid wood or die-cast aluminum and can have a glass or wood backing.
Vincent Van Duysen, with his Hector project, explores the world of modular bookcases with uprights. Thanks to its modular components, the bookcase allows for airy compositions of any length and height. The various possible finish combinations result in strikingly different compositions, each with its own visual impact and pleasing forms.
