Orbital is the premiere lamp by Ferruccio Laviani, designed in 1992. A lighting object that furnishes with the force of a sculpture, a true icon of lighting design. Its structure is mainly made up of 3 parts: a mobile tripod, made of laser-cut sheet metal, which supports a lacquered metal shaft, and five arms protruding, on which as many screen-printed industrial glass diffusers have been mounted. Each plate has an irregular shape to obtain an overall effect of significant graphic impact, especially in the white version. The colored diffusers, on the other hand, evoke a surreal drawing when the lamp is off, and the light plays with the mosaic-like stained glass windows when it is on. The diffusers are satin-finished on the outside to give the color a pasty appearance and highlight the shapes and shiny on the inside to reflect the light.
