EDU DESK
Charles Eames Ray Eames
In collaboration with the Eames Office and Dutch designer Hella Jongerius, a new range of colors was carefully chosen to give EDU a refreshed, contemporary look while paying homage to the spirit of the 1940s and 1950s. With an attractive combination of colored panels, the EDU Desk adds a cheerful and welcoming touch to the home office. The panels also function as a discreet screen and partially close off the two storage compartments. In addition, the metal support frame is height-adjustable to accommodate uneven floors.
In 1949, Charles and Ray Eames designed innovative freestanding, multifunctional desks and shelving systems. Like the Eames House, built simultaneously, these designs followed the principles of industrial production: we speak of the Eames Storage Units (ESU) and the Eames Desk Unit (EDU). The panels function as a discreet screen and partially close the two storage compartments. In addition, the table is height-adjustable to accommodate uneven floors.
