FORMAKAMI
Jaime HayonIvory white paper, black stained oak, 4 meter black fabric cord
Formakami is an ultralight pendant lamp, designed by Jaime Hayon, and inspired by ancient Asian lanterns, although reinvented with a modern aesthetic. Its origin dates back centuries, when paper lanterns became popular in Asia, using different colors, shapes, and sizes with different meanings. They were often used for celebration or simply decoration to reflect hope and prosperity. Fusing crafts and ancient materials such as rice paper, Formakami becomes an ideal lamp for modern spaces.
