GIGA LITE
Marc SadlerFloor lamp with diffused and direct light. Diffuser obtained with an artisan process in which the application of a carbon cable on glass fabric is foreseen.
The collaboration between Foscarini and Marc Sadler begins with Mite, a floor lamp so innovative that it was awarded the Compasso d’Oro in 2001. For Mite, the company and designer have developed a special patent: a mixture of fiberglass and carbon thread, which simultaneously serves as decoration and load-bearing structure. A technology already used for producing fishing rods, paddles, and golf clubs is used for the first time in the lighting world. The extreme flexibility of this material -light and resistant at the same time- has made it possible to design a whole collection of lamps for multiple uses. 3 light sources oriented in different directions uniformly illuminate the diffuser, highlighting the decoration of the lamp and projecting an intense and warm light beam downwards and upwards.
Thanks to its size, the Giga-Lite collection lends itself to domestic and contract use, furnishing environments with the elegant personality that characterizes the entire collection. The transparent cable has a dimmer acting as a gradual light intensity regulator and an on/off switch.
