TWELVE A.M.
NERI & HUThe cushion is attached by two multi-colored leather straps to the headboard, unmistakably highlighting the designers’ attention to detail. On the outer side of the headboard, made of wood, two small trays are hanging in a circular shape with the function of a table. At the rear, if the bed is in the center of the bedroom, a slight protruding shelf can be placed.
The wooden bed board is supported on four thin metal legs, on which a concave compartment, made of leather or textile, is kept to accommodate any mattress. In addition, a comfortable bench can be placed at the foot of the bed that takes up the same design, whose cushion is held by leather straps like the bed.
Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu, who are a couple in work and in life, from Shanghai, their headquarters, design an integrated furniture system for the night area, conciliating a good night's sleep. The bed – typically oriental in its simplicity and essentiality – is characterized by the use of wood as the main material combined with metal and soft textiles or leather. The headboard is high and gathered and seems to hug the bedboard. The interior of the headboard is lined with soft textiles or monochrome leathers and holds a comfortable cushion in the center, which functions as a headrest.
