BIT
Ferruccio LavianiThe first lamp designed by Ferruccio Laviani with a sculpture in mind is declined in a wall lamp: the five Orbital diffusers were designed in the five different versions of Bit, a modular wall lamp. Each screen-printed industrial glass plate has an irregular shape to obtain an effect of great graphic impact, both to be used individually and in multiform compositions. The white version effectively uses tone-on-tone to enhance the profile of shapes that seem to be cut out of the wall. The colored diffusers, on the other hand, evoke a surreal drawing when the lamps are off and the light plays on the mosaic-like stained glass windows when they are on. The attention to detail extends to the surface treatment of the diffusers, satin-finished on the outside to give the color a pasty texture and highlight the shapes, and shiny on the inside to reflect the light.
