Enea furniture: a Basque design cooperative
Founded in 1984 in the Goierri area of Gipuzkoa, Enea designs and manufactures furniture inspired by everyday life. In Basque, Enea can be translated as "the house of". It is a cooperative, where much of the workforce owns the company, and it forms part of the Mondragon Corporation, one of Spain's largest industrial groups. Manufacturing takes place at its Basque plant, with distribution worldwide. Enea received the 2022 National Design Award in the Companies category. The Lottus collection by Lievore Altherr Molina won a Good Design Award in 2010, and the Mate chair a Red Dot in 2023.
