Foscarini

Foscarini has made lighting since its beginnings on the island of Murano, near Venice, in 1981. Oboe Muebles works with the brand and carries 112 of its pieces, from blown-glass suspensions to lamps in fibreglass and hand-poured concrete. This page introduces the collection you can order through our Málaga and Marbella showrooms, the models held in our catalogue, and how to plan a purchase with our team.

Foscarini lamps, from Murano to Marcon

Foscarini was founded on Murano in 1981 and presented its first catalogue collection of design lamps in 1983. Since 1994 its head office has been in Marcon, in the province of Venice, and the company keeps no factory of its own, working with a network of mainly Italian suppliers close to that base. Lumiere, by Rodolfo Dordoni, became its first major commercial success in 1990, and in 2001 the Mite and Tite lamps by Marc Sadler won the company its first Compasso d'Oro ADI. In 2022 Foscarini acquired 90% of Ingo Maurer GmbH.

Materials, from blown glass to concrete

Foscarini is defined by the range of materials it turns into light. It works Murano blown glass with the supplier Vetrofond on pieces such as Gregg, Caboche, Lumiere and Folio. With the manufacturer FAPS it developed fibreglass and carbon or Kevlar composites, first used in Mite and Tite in 2000; Twiggy, the arc floor lamp by Marc Sadler from 2006, uses the same fibreglass and carbon. Aplomb, by Lucidi Pevere (2010), is made of hand-poured concrete just two centimetres thick, while Havana, by Jozeph Forakis (1993), was the first Foscarini lamp made in polyethylene.
