Joquer is a Catalan family firm founded in 1984 that makes sofas and armchairs to order in its own workshop near Barcelona, under the creative direction of Mario Ruiz. At Oboe Muebles you will find 29 Joquer pieces in our catalogue, backed by our showrooms in Málaga and Marbella. This page covers the brand's history, the models we carry and how to order them.
A Catalan family firm since 1984
Joquer was founded in 1984 by Pedro Carretero as a small Spanish family business, producing sofas, armchairs and auxiliary upholstery. Six years later it began exporting to several European countries. In 2012 the designer Mario Ruiz took over creative direction. Its offices and showroom are in Viladecans, Barcelona, with a workshop in the surrounding area. Joquer manufactures only to order, combining craft and technology: each pattern is cut on a large digital machine, then the pieces are profiled by hand with a stitch that prevents fraying. The frame timber comes from sustainable forests.
