STUA: made in Astigarraga
STUA was founded in 1983 by Jesús Gasca and Marina Quevedo, and is now run by the second generation, with Jon Gasca leading creative direction. Its showroom and factory sit in Astigarraga, near San Sebastián, where the collection is made with 100% European raw materials and a slow-design approach. The company owns Roscacero, through which it sources trivalent chrome, and uses Oeko-Tex foams that are flame-retardant without chemical additives; most packaging avoids plastic. STUA has received the Premio Nacional de Diseño. Its in-house designers are Jesús Gasca, Jon Gasca and Josep Mora.
