The Gomma armchair by Zanotta sits on a multilayer wooden frame. Elastic strips run beneath the seat to give it the right amount of flex, and solid beech feet finish the piece with a note of natural timber on show.
Padding comes from polyurethane foam blended with vegetable-based polyoils, a careful choice of material. No glue is used in the assembly, which makes it easier to separate the parts at the end of the furniture’s life. The fabric cover lifts off the frame in full.
Where Gomma fits in
With a current line and quiet presence, it works well next to clean-cut sofas in a contemporary living room, or paired up facing a low coffee table. It sits comfortably alongside neutral upholstery, pale timbers and natural-feel textiles such as linen or combed wool.
