Servomuto side table
Brand: Zanotta
The Servomuto belongs to the Servi range designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Zanotta in 1974. It is a small side table with a base built from polypropylene and painted steel rod, available in talc or black. The top is finished in reversible plastic laminate, black on one side and white on the other, so the look of the piece can be flipped with a simple turn.
The result is a light, functional object with the restrained rationalism that defines the Castiglioni brothers’ work. The slim metal rod paired with a flat laminate top gives you a useful surface without weighing the room down, and the two-tone top adds versatility without the need for a second table.
A quiet companion around the home
It sits well next to a sofa or armchair as a resting place for a cup, a book or a phone, works as a pared-back bedside table, or finds its place in a reading corner. It fits modern, Scandinavian and seventies Italian interiors, and pairs easily with plain upholstery, light timbers and other design classics from the same era.
