Ethnicraft

Ethnicraft is a Belgian furniture brand founded in Antwerp in 1996, known for contemporary pieces in solid oak and teak with in-house design and hand-finished detailing. At Oboe, our family-run interior design company since 1987, the Ethnicraft catalogue runs to 116 references. This page explains what defines the brand, which pieces we carry, and how to order them through our Marbella showroom or our Málaga showrooms.

Ethnicraft: a Belgian workshop tradition

Ethnicraft was founded in 1996 by Philippe Delaisse after a trip around the world, together with his childhood friend Benoit Loos, now the company's CEO. Delaisse led manufacturing and product development, while Loos took charge of marketing, finance and growth. The brand set up its first factory in Indonesia and works vertically integrated: it designs, makes in its own workshops and distributes under its own name worldwide, from its head office in Boom, Belgium. It took part in Maison & Objet for the first time in 1997, and in 2018 it opened a woodworking training centre in Indonesia to support local craftsmanship.
