LIGHT BULB
James Wines«The Light Bulb Series» is an author collection born from a reflection on the light bulb as an archetype, with the typical bulb shape declining in a series of surprising provocations. James Wines proposes this reflection by moving between the main themes that have guided his architectural research: inversion, dissolution, nature, and all those states of «architectural defect» that allow us to rethink reality.
Made of 5 pieces, the complete series is dedicated to collectors and enthusiasts and sold in limited and numbered editions. Foscarini also proposes a spin-off of the collection dedicated to a wider audience: White Light and Black Light can be purchased separately. White Light is the matrix, the still intact base icon of an object that has become the archetype of lighting. Black Light is a pure inversion of functions and parts: a lamp holder that emits light, while the bulb remains black and “dark”. An accessible temptation for those passionate about the conceptual approach and critical reflection of James Wines.
