Lago is an Italian family company making modular, Made in Italy furniture, and its collections form part of the catalogue at Oboe Muebles, the design furniture and interiors business serving Málaga and Marbella since 1987. On this page you will find the Lago pieces we carry, a look at the brand's wood-and-glass craft, and how to request a quote or book an appointment with our team on the Costa del Sol.
The Lago story: Italian family craft since 1976
Lago was founded in 1976 by Giuseppe Lago, with artisan roots reaching back to the late nineteenth century and Policarpo Lago, a cabinetmaker. In 2006, by its fourth generation, the family firm became a S.p.A. Today it is run by three siblings: Daniele Lago (Head of Design), Franco Lago (Head of Innovative Design Project) and Rosanna Lago (Head of Controlling). In June 2024 Daniele Lago was named President and Gilberto Negrini appointed CEO. From its base in Villa del Conte, near Padua, Lago designs and manufactures entirely in Italy and is present in more than 20 countries through over 500 selected stores.
Wood, glass and furniture that appears to float
Lago's work is defined by wood and glass. Its Wildwood comes from certified forests and is made resistant and water-resistant through a thermal treatment, while thermally tempered glass is, according to the brand, six times stronger than ordinary glass. The 36e8 system by Daniele Lago (2003) introduced a square base module of 36.8 cm x 36.8 cm into a world of rectangular furniture. The Fluttua bed (2004) rests on a single wall-fixed central support adjustable in height, and the Air table (2006) and Air bed (2008) appear to float on fully transparent extra-clear tempered glass supports.
